Great story so far, love where you're going with it as well! Really like how you take these ideas and weave yourself into the characters.

That's really all I can say about it, but I have to fill up the fifty word minimum. I'm not all that wordy here and its chapter one, cut me some slack. XD

unapologetic wishfulfilment

Pure unadulterated author wishfulfilment. You essentially is reading the author's daydream.

Style

The story is told well enough so you can enjoy it.

There a strong author's voice here which make the experience really distinctive. It is something that is very rare here and what I consider a great plus. The author with distinct voices like this could easily stand among the rest. I could easily see this author achieving a modicum of success as a professional author.

Still, there are minor issues like glossing over important details and the very static sense of time where it feels like the time barely moves.

My greatest issue though is how often the story recap itself. We will have the protagonist doing something, then in the next chapter we have a different character where the events that we just read about is recounted by the POV character. It does provide a view of how the POV character reacts to the insane events, but then again we have seen it before and it really do nothing but stroke the author's ego. Pretty much the the extended version of the exclamations of random characters you see in typical webnovels.

Story

Unapologetic wishfulfilment power fantasy.

And I don't have a problem with that! I support something like this wholeheartedly.

It just go straight in, and that for me is a good thing. If you ever want to write a wishfulfilment story, then go all in. Don't be timid or be ashamed. Half-assed efforts isn't the way. You are doing your story no favors by diluting its nature.

Still, it does fall a bit into the dangers this kind of story have. That is, the very unfocused plotting. We have so many whishes and desires that we want to express but all of this can't really just be thrown together and magically form a coherent story. Each desire would just be pushing things one way and then the other resulting to nothing more than an equivalent of Brownian motion in narrative form.

This isn't exactly story related but the author kinda bullsh*t their way to justify things that some readers find objectionable. One of this is the pedophilia aspect of the story. Our young protagonist have sex with an adult woman, and many voiced their objections to this. The author essentially just blame the readers for being overly sensitive and lay out an excuse that in some countries, they give Japan as the example, the protagonist is at their minimum age of consent, therefore it is okay. Well, Pokemon is from Japan so a more Japanese culture fits well, so objections overruleed? No. The thing is, they are totally wrong. Sure Japan have 14 years as the minimum age, but that is for being with others in their age. Older people with youths are frowned uppon, and their laws actually lay heavy punishment for this. So, the author not only failed to rebuff the objections, but actually supported them. Big fail.

Just to be clear, the acts in the story doesn't bother me, but the author bullsh*ting their way through does. It gives the feel that the author is a bit of a coward and can't stand by directly on their ideas and belief and has to bullsh*t their way through for being out of the norm. If such things is what you are into then own to it.

Grammar

Pretty solid I guess. I'm not proficient in the English language so I can't tell much. But I don't really see any glaring errors that take me out of it or make the ideas difficult to understand.

Character

This might be where the story is weakest at. All the characters here are pretty one note. The protagonist take this giant chad personality in every moment and action. It doesn't feel like he is a real character but just acting out and showing off for the onlookers. This wouldn't be much of an issue for a side character as we would only be seeing them in short burst, but is kinda monotonous or overwhelming for a protagonist to just be acting one way throughout.

Also, it also could be difficult to relate to the protagonist if you are not into this kind of character. You will either see it as tiresome or ridiculous.

The other characters aren't good. As a wishfulfilment story, the side characters are just there to elevate the protagonist. They aren't really that important in the grand scheme of things.

Still, it would been good if the characters are given more attention and care. I think it would help in these wishfulfilment story if the characters around are more real. That way, the reaction of the characters towards the protagonist hold more weight rather than feeling like canned reactions from automated machines.

Overall, it is very great for what it is. I mean, I wouldn't watch p*rn and complain about the lack of plot or lack of realism. Same with stories like this. It does what it meant to do and do it really well. That is all we could ask for.

As a wishfulfilment story, it succeeds really well. It serves in large doses to you what exactly you are looking for. It is one of the better ones out there in this aspect. It's unapologetic nature also pretty much allow you to forgive most of it flaws, which would have been unforgivable in more restrained fiction, as necessary eccentricities. It is just really rare for a wishfulfillment story to be honest about its nature. It doesn't try to be anything than it is and that makes me held this story above most of its kind.

If you are looking for looking for a power fantasy, look no further.

A Fun Adventure With A Surprising Amount of Depth

Jordinio Version isn't the kind of story you'd read and think "I can easily imagine this on a bookstore shelf" but on webnovel sites it fits right in. The story manages to excel in a few areas where other Pokemon isekai tend to falter -- namely pacing and characterization -- and that's what makes it stand out from the rest.

I've read this story elsewhere, so you can consider this review relevant up to chapter 23. Grammar isn't perfect, but the author has said he's cleaning up the story for Royal Road, meaning this is the best version of the story on the web. While there will likely still be errors that appear here and there, even in the original version they were never so bad as to be distracting. The author also takes criticism in this area well, rather than automatically insisting you're the one that's wrong, which is always nice.

Probably the greatest strength of this story is the characterization. The main character, Jord, isn't some boring Gary Stu but neither is he a punching bag for constant diablo ex machinas. The Jord portrayed in the story is crass, has an attitude that gets him into trouble, and makes believable mistakes that result in losses. But his love for all things Pokemon is undeniable, so you get to see a different side to him when he interacts with his team.

That love for Pokemon also extends to his time prior to arriving in his new world, solving a question I often ask when reading isekai stories: Why doesn't the story just use a character actually from the main setting? Many isekais run into the problem of the actual isekai incident itself being basically irrelevant to the plot. Fortunately, this isn't the case in Jordinio Version, as Jord explicitly plans around exploiting his meta knowledge for all it's worth. This doesn't mean he's able to effortlessly become a powerful trainer, since he has to work to earn the advantages he gets, but it does mean there are opportunities available to him that few ordinary trainers would come across.

The supporting cast is fairly solid. Jord catches a bit more Pokemon than you would expect, but it does make sense that someone who wound up in the Pokemon world one day would be catch happy. Relevant side characters like Hilda and Gary have their own ambitions and agency, and others like Ash are treated with respect rather than senseless bashing.

The plot itself is still ramping up, but there have been some solid story beats and twists so far. The author clearly knows a lot about the anime and utilizes this to take the story in directions you haven't already seen 100 times before. He's also unafraid to add some interesting world-building details that add richness to the world.

When it comes to style, while the prose itself isn't particularly memorable (as is the case with most every webnovel), the pacing is refreshing. The story doesn't drag and stretch things out in a way that loses my attention, and most readers will probably find it extremely bingeable. At the same time, the pacing is never so fast that it feels like Jord is getting stronger mostly offscreen; everything that matters has a good amount of time dedicated to it. The shift away from 1st person when we see things from other characters' POVs can be a bit disorienting, but the value those POVs add make up for it.

Jordinio Version changed my mind about the isekai genre as a whole, and has made me more open to giving stories with the label a chance. Ultimately, if you're a fan of Pokemon, you'd be making a mistake to not give this story a shot.

Recommended for: Pokemon fans (especially hardcore ones), readers who like fast pacing that isn't rushed, fans of protagonists with actual personalities.

Not recommended for: People who know absolutely nothing about Pokemon, readers averse to swearing or sexual innuendo.

Best pokemon novel I have read in long time. The main MC dose not take any $hit from any body. The MCs pokemon have the same type of personality. very good novel would highly reconmend to any and all fans of badda$$ MCs and any pokemon fans as well.
